Barbara Helynn teaches massage therapists ways to work that are easy on the therapist’s body, minimizing stress on wrists, elbows, hips and backs. The clinically focused, spiritually grounded lomilomi she teaches is problem-solving work which helps resolve injury, and also feels wonderful to receive. The body is approached as a clearly interrelated whole; what occurs in one part of the body affects all parts of the body. Awareness Massage Lomilomi incorporates concepts of Hawaiian spirituality, meditation techniques, and indigenous values.
